Puppy / Dog Separation Anxiety? I Can Help In Your Home!

Barking and Howling
A dog with separation anxiety might bark or howl when left alone. Barking can be a frustrated behaviour and howling is usually calling you back. This can go on for minutes to hours.
Urinating and Defecating
Some dogs may urinate or defecate when left alone. This may be due to so much stress and tension that the dog might lose their bladder or bowel. Another cause may be marking or claiming territory to show home responsibility because you are not there.
Chewing, Digging and Destruction
Many dogs with separation anxiety chew on walls, door or window frames, dig at doors and windows or destroy various objects like their beds and TV remotes when left alone. These behaviours can result in injuries like broken teeth, cuts and scrapes or damaged nails. Your dog may dig excessively if left outside when you are away.
Escaping
Some dogs with separation anxiety might try to escape when left alone or separated from you. Your dog might try to dig and chew through doors or jump fences to get out and look for you.
Pacing
Your dog might walk or pace along a specific fixed pattern when left alone or separated from you. Some pacing happens in circular patterns and others walk back and forth. This is an anxious behaviour that can lead to obsessive pacing or spinning.
Drooling or Shaking
Sometimes when the separation anxiety is severe, a dog may shake uncontrollably or drool excessively. This is involuntary because his/her emotions are out of control. Another symptom may be excessive scratching or licking when there is no real itch.
